ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROGRAM OVERVIEW
AISU offers transitional English courses and the support to facilitate a successful transition to study in the United States.
The AISU English Language Program has incredible teachers with years of experience. We teach with a variety of learning platforms that include meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that allows for learning and growth, preparing students for life in college and beyond.
Learning English infused by the arts encourages the social and emotional component to language. In the ELL Theater class for Level 1 and 2 students, international and local students participate in a rigorous art program that culminates in a grand theatrical production. Students enhance listening and speaking skills as they interact with one another in a fun and exciting atmosphere.
- English Level 1 students have approximately three hours per day of classroom English language study. Courses include: Speaking and Listening 1, Reading and Writing 1 and ELL Theater.
- English Level 2 students have approximately 2.5 hours per day of classroom English language study. Courses include: Speaking and Listening 2, Reading and Writing 2 and ELL TheaterL.
- English Level 3 students have approximately 1.5 hours per day of classroom English language study. Courses include: Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing 3.
- English Level 4 students have approximately one hour per day of classroom English language study. Courses include: Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing 4.
Aside from the English Language courses, AISU student participate in general and advanced study of literature, science, mathematics, history, music and art courses.
